St. John's Bible Study

Join us for Sunday Bible Study! 📖

We’ll be meeting through May as we explore the lives of men and women of the Bible.

Come gather with us in the lounge at 9:30 AM, between services.

Everyone is welcome— we’d love for you to be part of the conversation.

Get Involved With Our Ministries

Key reasons to join a Bible study group include:

  • Deeper Understanding: Diverse perspectives and shared insights allow you to see truths in the text you might miss on your own.
  • Accountability & Support: Groups provide encouragement, prayer, and mutual support during life’s challenges.
  • Practical Application: Members discuss how to apply scriptural lessons to real-world scenarios, such as work, family, and personal struggles.
  • Community & Belonging: They build tight-knit relationships and offer a sense of family, often  bridging the gap between simply attending church and actively living out  faith.
  • Safe Exploration: They offer a welcoming, non-judgmental space to ask questions, share, and process doubt

Why Try a Bible Study Method?

Using Bible study methods isn’t about making things complicated—it’s about helping you understand the text more clearly and meaningfully.

First, they give you structure. The Bible is a large, diverse collection of books written in different times and contexts. A method (like observation–interpretation–application) helps you slow down and actually see what the passage is saying instead of just skimming it.

Second, they help with accuracy. Without a method, it’s easy to read your own assumptions into a passage. Good study approaches encourage you to consider context, audience, and purpose so you’re understanding the message as it was intended.

Third, they deepen personal connection. When you take time to ask questions, look for themes, and reflect, the text becomes more than just words—you begin to see how it connects to your life.

Fourth, they make study more engaging and consistent. Having a method gives you a starting point each time you open the Bible, which can make it easier to build a regular habit.

Finally, they encourage group discussion. When everyone uses a shared approach, conversations become richer because people are noticing different details and insights from the same passage.

In short, Bible study methods help move you from simply reading to truly understanding, reflecting, and applying what you read.
