The women of St. John's participate in ministry in a number of ways. All women are members of the Women of the ELCA and take part in educational and social programs on a monthly basis. Each woman is also assigned to a circle. These groups provide two functions as they meet for monthly Bible study and also serve at funerals and congregational dinners. Many women also meet throughout the year to make quilts for missions. All are welcome to join any of these activities.
2026 WELCA Events Booklet is available to members at the Church Office.
Lutheran World Relief Quilting
The women of St. John's gather each spring and fall to make and tie quilts for Lutheran World Relief, providing warmth and comfort to families around the world.
We are currently tying quilts on Wednesdays from August through October in the Fellowship Hall, from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Whether you can stay for the entire morning or just an hour, all are welcome to join us. No experience is necessary—we're happy to teach you! If you can tie your shoes, you can tie a quilt! Come enjoy fellowship while helping create quilts that share Christ's love with those in need.
For 80 years, your congregation’s quilts and kits have wrapped neighbors in crisis around the world. This year, you expanded that legacy — bringing comfort to those suffering here at home for the first time.
Your support extends to the hardest-to-reach — oceans away and in our own backyards — with tangible signs of God’s love and creates a network of hope.
