Our Beliefs
St. John's LYO (Lutheran Youth Organization) provides activities and educational programs for all students in grades 7 - 12. Under the direction of the Youth Ministry Team, monthly activities are planned which compliment the school and church calendars and offer an alternative for youth.
Confirmation Students
A two-year confirmation program is offered for students in 7th-8th grades, with confirmation celebrated in the fall of their 9th grade year.
All youth are encouraged to attend worship services. We believe children learn best by participating in worship alongside their families, growing together in faith and community.
Confirmation Registration & Informational Meeting
September 16 • 7:00 PM • Fellowship Hall
Are you ready to begin the journey of Confirmation? Students in 7th–9th grade and their parents are invited to join us for an informational and registration meeting.
We’ll provide an overview of the Confirmation program, discuss what to expect, and answer any questions you may have.
Confirmation classes begin September 30.
We look forward to welcoming students and families as we grow together in faith and prepare for this special milestone!
ELCA Youth Gathering - 2027
Join Us - ELCA Youth Gathering June 28- July 2, 2027

We are excited to announce that the 2027 ELCA Youth Gathering will take place June 28–July 2, 2027, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, under the theme "Imagine More." This incredible event brings together thousands of high school youth, young adults, and adult leaders from across the country for worship, service, learning, and fellowship.

Event Highlights
- Theme: Imagine More — centered on hope, justice, and community.
- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, the "City by Nature," utilizing the Minneapolis Convention Center and venues throughout the city.
- Who Can Attend: Youth currently in grades 8–12 (during the 2026–2027 school year), along with young adults and adult leaders.

If you are interested in attending, please contact the church office by September 30, 2026, so we can begin planning.
- LYO funds and fundraising opportunities will be available to help all participants attend.
- A pre-Gathering retreat at EWALU is planned for October 30–November 1, 2026, to begin our faith formation journey together. While this retreat is not required, it is strongly encouraged for all youth and adult leaders planning to attend the Youth Gathering.
